President Trump is RIGHT

PRESIDENT TRUMP is right when he says that the media is the enemy of the people.

For years, the media has been dividing and misinforming us with fake and distorted narratives. This is across the board, from the New York Times to Fox News. And unfortunately technology is accelerating this problem. IT HAS TO STOP because it's destroying our country.

As a student in high school and college I enthusiastically contributed to school newspapers, believing that “freedom of the press” was essential for “democracy.” I now know that that is not true, and I will even argue we need fewer journalists, NO CABLE NEWS, less newspapers, and less information in general.

The media is so irresponsible - I will argue that it has done things such as the following:

• Perpetuated mass shootings
• Led to annoying and performative liberal elite attitudes promoting harmful and divisive narratives about the origins of the country, and a vulgar and mean-spiritied but somewhat justified conservative reaction
• Simultaneously demonized and glorified Obama like a god/savior (likewise for Trump)
• Created confusion and misinformation around elections (and probably negatively impacted them)
• Masquraded hysterical opinions as fact from totally disqualified people
• Turned certain elections into stupid popularity contests
• Led to annoying people like Jon Stewart and John Oliver gaining a platform and doing further harm
• Decreased credibility in science

I believe most of the news as we know it should be canceled and most cable news personalities in particular ought to be punished, with perhaps at worst public spanking (that can be the last thing they broadcast before being cancelled).

In this blog I am going to explore what the "news" is, what the "news" ought to be, what it means to be "informed", why Americans are so angry, why the government is so dysfunctional
